Tulip Vanity

Sometimes I let tulips stay in the vase for a long time, usually the last tulips of the season. Fascinating how a flower once full of life (and water) shrinks, becomes fragile, but still holds on to its colors — it looks like a Vanitas in a way. Fven in decay the tulip is beautifull – and with that enjoyable for a long time.

I tried crushing the petals into pigment to make paint with, but tulips are too fibrous… I couldn’t produce a smooth powder. But maybe I gave up to easy.
