Recent publication
There are many books about the Tulipmania. A recent pulication in relation to the exposition at The Black Tulip Museum, is a book by Henk Looijesteijn in cooperation with Annemarie Vels Heijn.
It is a pleasent read with many historic facts and knows. There is also an English edtion: “Tulip Fever – 1636-1637 – Myth and Reality”, ISBN 978 90 8293 6179.
International Portrait Day
On Friday the 23rd of June it was International Portrait Day. We shared the portrait of a sultan presenting the cultivated tulips of the Ottoman Empire to the world. Thank you for this gift!
The ‘Sultan with Tulips’ is part of the Ninetynine Tulips collection, until the end of August on display at the Black Tulip Museum in Lisse.
